SOUTHEAST TEXAS INDUSTRIES, INC., dba SEMCO MANUFACTURING CO. is a Texas Corporation located in Pharr, Texas, and involved in engineering, design, and manufacturing of custom labor-saving machinery, refrigeration equipment, commercial ice plants & other contract manufacturing.
The company was established in 1938 as SEMCO MANUFACTURING COMPANY and was primarily involved with agricultural equipment in its early years. Other products and services were added through the years.
In 1976, James R. Hatton, P.E., purchased SEMCO and reorganized the company. SEMCO grew rapidly under Hatton’s leadership as other equipment lines and services were added & the product line was diversified to meet the needs of other industries.
In March of 2007 Hatton sold the assets of the company to Southeast Texas Industries, Inc. (www.setxind.com) Greg Swartz was hired as General Manager & Hatton has remained as an Engineering consultant. Rod Bradley has assumed duties as manager of OEM sales.
